Women’s Asia Cup 2024: The competition is scheduled to begin today. India and Pakistan are scheduled to play a match today. The UAE and Nepal will begin to compete.

Colombo: Today marks the beginning of the Women’s Asia Cup cricket competition in Sri Lanka. There are eight teams taking part in this sport. Nepal will play the United Arab Emirates in the tournament’s opening match this afternoon. The match that follows is highly anticipated by Indian cricket fans as India takes on Pakistan. This is a response to the recent T20 World Cup loss by the Indian men’s team to Pakistan. The Indian women’s cricket team has the opportunity to potentially reverse Pakistan’s current situation.

The Indian women’s team is keen to win again because they have won championship crowns in prior competitions of a similar nature. They have seven previous victories in the Women’s Asia Cup, giving them a great track record. Today is the start of the competition in Sri Lanka.

India vs. Pakistan Today:

India and Pakistan will play in the Women’s Asia Cup this evening. India’s campaign against their longtime rivals, Pakistan, in this tournament officially began today.

Teams Participating:

The eight teams who are taking part are Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, India, and Pakistan. They’re split up into two categories:

Group A : includes Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and India.

Group B : includes Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian squad is prepared for this competition. Within the team, Smriti Mandhana carries a great deal of responsibility as well.

The first match for India in the Women’s Asia Cup will be against Pakistan, their long-standing rivals. India aims to start their campaign with a victory against Pakistan today.

Pakistan Team:

Players include, among others, Omaima Sohail, Sana Fatima, Syeda Arub Shah, Tuba Hassan, Tasmia Rubab, Nashra Sandhu, Sadiya Iqbal, Diana Baig, Aliya Riaz, Iram Javed, Sidra Ameen, Firoza Gul, and Nida Dar (captain).

Each group’s top two teams advance to the semi-finals. On July 26, there will be the semi-finals, and on July 28, there will be the championship game.
